Text Box: What Does this mean?

Redeemer Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church, a part of the fellowship of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod.  We believe what we have received from God as He has revealed it to us in the Holy Bible.  We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word.  It is His revelation to us.  The Bible tells us who God is.  It tells us what God expects and demands of us.  Most important, however, is that it tells us what He has done for us.
The Almighty God, the Maker of all things, came to this earth and became a human being, born as a little child, grew into a man, and then died for the sins of His creation on a cross.  That man, Jesus, carried on His shoulders the sins of every person who has ever lived and breathed and in so doing, he took upon himself the judgment and the punishment that all people deserve because all people are sinners.
Not only did Jesus die.  After three days he rose again from the dead.  His sacrifice was enough.  It took care of the debt of sin that we owed.  God's blessing and favor, and even eternal life forever in heaven can now be ours.  All that is needed is faith, simply believing that Jesus' death and resurrection paid the price for your sin and grants you the gift of eternal life in Heaven.
This faith is summed up in the words of the Apostle's Creed:
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen
