Seymour Area Community Network Committee

The Seymour Community Network is a local organization formed for the purpose of making Seymour Community Information available over the Internet. It is hoped that the Seymour Community Network can become a self-governing entity, with appropriate participants taking responsibility for various areas of information.

With the support and assistance of the Jackson County Public Library web sites of members of the network can be hosted within the seymour.org domain at no charge.

Membership in the Seymour Community Network is open to any non-profit organization or government agency located in Jackson County. Agencies can become a member by submitting a application, which are available at the Jackson County Public Library - Seymour. There are no membership dues. The Seymour Community Network invites local area businesses and industry to participate with courtesy links to and from the Seymour Community Network web site.

Participants should select a representative to attend at least four meetings each year. These meetings will address issues of Internet marketing, web page design, and concepts of a community network. Each organization will be responsible for design, creation, update, and maintenance of the organization's web page. Computers are available at the Jackson County Public Library that the organizations may use to design, create, update, and maintain their web pages. Any organization may choose to solicit a professional for a fee to design, create, update, and maintain their web pages or may find volunteers to do so.

Current members of the project executive committee are: Jerry Finley, Seymour Community Schools; Brian Rodman, Seymour Community Schools; Julia Aker, Jackson County Public Library; Jason Boyer, Jackson County Public Library; Martha McIntire, City of Seymour.
