Right now, SR 258 is closed. Since it may be closed tomorrow, here are the directions to get to Paul’s house in Cortland on the “flood route”. It’s supposed to be a nice sunny day tomorrow, so please take this detour and come on out!

Flood Route to Cortland

Go north on SR 11 (Ewing Street)–

Before the Interstate, you will see Cypress Lake on the right and what was a gas station and then a used car place on the left.

Turn left at the used car place.

You will come to a T in the road with a Yield sign. Turn left there.

In about 1/8 mi., you will come to Railroad Tracks. There is a turnoff to the county road on the right immediately as you cross the tracks. Take that turnoff- it’s almost a U-turn to the right. You will then be on 975 North.

Follow it (there is a short bend in the beginning and then it goes straight) for about a mile until you get to a T in the road. Turn left at the T onto 700 East.

Go south on that for a mile or two, until you come to 900 North. Turn right onto it. (There is a residential section here that you will be driving through.) The road will make a bunch of turns (left, then right, then right, then left) and will even become 875 North in some places, but keep going on it- it’s about 2 miles or so.

You will come to a T- turn left onto 500 East.

You are heading south to Rose Acres. Go about 1 mile and then turn right onto 800 North. (You will see Rose Acres at this intersection.)

Go to the next intersection and turn left onto 400 E.

Follow this to the flashing light in Cortland.

Turn left to get to 425 E, it will be a few streets down and there is a house with a wrought iron fence on the corner, turn left onto 425 E…

Paul’s house is about 5 houses down, right where the road curves to the right.

Call 530-1085 if you have any questions.

It will take about 20 minutes or so from downtown Seymour.
