Every 15 Seconds A Woman Is Battered

You don't have to have bruises or cut marks to be battered. Domestic violence also includes emotional abuse, sexual assault, child manipulation and threats.

Domestic violence is a way of establishing power and control over another person through fear and intimidation.

Batterers believe they have the right to control their partners, while victims feel it is their fault they are being abused.

Children are often caught in the middle, torn between their desire for a family and their need for safety.

If this sounds like your situation -- even if you're not certain -- we can help. We can answer questions, help find solutions, provide free emergency shelter and short-term assistance in order to escape domestic violence.
