Purpose: The purpose of DAR is to preserve our American Heritage, and the memory and tradition of our Revolutionary ancestors; to promote and assist in the celebration of the anniversaries of Washington's birthday, Flag Day, Constitution Week, the Fourth of July and other Commemorative and historical events; to actively participate in the work of the Society through the chapter to further its objectives: historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavor. Daughters of the American Revolution join with others to foster patriotism and love of country and to aid in securing for mankind all the blessings of liberty.

Additional Information:: Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. DAR defines a "patriot" as one who provided service or direct assistance in achieving America's independence.
