Who We Are


South Central Workforce Development Services is a non-profit agency which provides free employment and training services to eligible residents of Jackson County, Indiana. This JTPA program's goal is to provide training and services that will result in increased employment and earnings in addition to increasing one's educational and occupational skills.

Services Available to Eligible Clients Include:

Employment Skills Workshops
Workshops which help develop basic life skills, determine career interests, and improve job search methods.

Vocational Counseling
Guidance in making vocational choices to assist in finding full-time permanent employment.

Work Experience
Temporary paid work to help create a positive work history for those with a poor record or no record of previous employment.

Classroom Training
Financial assistance may be made available for short-term and long-term vocational coursework at certain local educational institutions, if needed, to help obtain employment. Referrals may also be made to basic education classes.

On-The-Job Training
Employers train our clients at the worksite on skills needed to become more proficient in a particular occupation. In exchange for this training, it is possible for employers to receive up to 50% wage reimbursement.

Placement Assistance
Personal job placement assistance is available through our staff to help develop an individual plan for the customer's job search.
